LOS ANGELES–Armenia’s Minister of Health Norair Davidian arrived in Los Angeles from Boston Monday and was greeted by members of the Central Committee of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF)–Western Region. Minister of Agriculture David Lokian–is due to arrive Wednesday evening.
While in California–the two ministers will meet with professionals and experts in their respective fields.
On Friday evening–the ministers will be attending the Armenian Cultural Foundation’s banquet at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.
The ministers are visiting the United States to garner the support of the Armenian American community and foreign specialists to aid Armenia’s healthcare and agricultural sectors.
Their trip is organized by the ARF central committees of Eastern and Western United States jointly with the central committee of Canada.
While in Boston–Davidian met with members of the Armenian American Medical Philantropic Fund to discuss aid to Armenia and outline future activities. He attended a charity concert at Boston University to benefit Armenia’s healthcare needs–and discussed cooperation with Boston University physicians. Davidian also met with the State Health Commissioner of Massachusetts.
Agriculture Minister Lokian discussed agricultural issues with specialists from the US and Canada.
An important part of Lokian’s visit will be to Fresno–California which is not only the state’s largest agricultural center–but also home to a considerable community of Armenian farmers.
