YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The Armenian Relief Society will be centering its attention on the implementation of a number of education and health programs in the earthquake area by the end of the year–ARS Director Alvard Petrossian told Noyan Tapan.
According to her–besides the above-mentioned programs–school construction is also planned in the earthquake area. Petrossian voiced confidence that the Diaspora–as always–will assist in the implementation of the foregoing programs.
Currently–ARS is continuing to implement its program of patronage of six children’s homes. It has planned to extend the program of financial assistance to orphans from the earthquake area and children of perished freedom fighters (3,200 children in all)–and additional funds are being procured to render assistance to another thousand children.
