BAKU (Armenpress)–Andreas Gross–member of a monitoring group of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has become a kind of persona non-grata in Azerbaijan and his visit to the former Soviet republic has caused a discontent not only among the current authorities–but the opposition as well.
Chairman of the Civic Solidarity Party Sabir Rustamkhanli accused Andreas Gross of exhibiting a clearly cut pro-Armenian position. The chairman of the People’s Front of Azerbaijan Party–Mirmahmud Miralioglu described Gross as "an enemy rather than a friend of the Turks." Gross has arrived in Baku to collect first-hand information about the situation with human rights in Azerbaijan.
