YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–An intergovernmental agreement signed between Armenia and Germany in July called for the establishment of a financial and technical college in Armenia and the implementation of a bank officer training program.
A deputy secretary of the German Embassy in Armenia–Marion Ramakers told Noyan Tapan that despite although the agreement had not yet been ratified by the Armenian National Assembly–the training program was launched in September at the Armenian government’s request.
The Ministry of Science and Education and the Association of Armenian Banks are also taking part in the program.
The teaching staff of the college received special retraining courses under the direction of German’specialists who provided the college with training aids which are up to European standards–but take into consideration the needs of Armenian bankers.
