YEREVAN (Arm-Info)–The press-service of Armenia’s National Security Agency’s Border Patrol department denied information reported by Turkish media on Armenian forces allegedly firing inn the direction of Turkish territory on October 11. Press Secretary of the NSA Boder Patrol, Lt. Colonel Vardan Karapetyan told ArmInfo "operative channels have no such information." The Turkish press reported that Turkish General Staff accused Armenia of firing at the territory of Turkey. According to a statement of the Turkish General Staff, "on October 11, the servicemen of Armenia’s Border Troops twice fired at the territory of Turkey. No victims were recorded." It should be noted that Armenia’s borders are being patrolled by Russian forces. Some independent observers said Turkish accusations were connected to a bill adopted by the French National Assembly, criminalizing the denial of the Armenian Genocide.
