YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The Central Electoral Committee banned the March 3 set up of polling stations in Prague–Budapest–Plovdiv–Thessaloniki and 17 out of the 19 scheduled polling stations in Russia. On Feb. 27–the CEC suggested that the Foreign Ministry review its decision regarding foreign polling stations. The CEC resolution was based on the fact that Armenia’s ambassadors to Austria–Hungary–Bulgaria and Russia violated the Feb. 20–26 resolution of the CEC regarding preparation and organization of voting for Armenian citizens registered with Armenian consulates. Polling stations in those countries were established with delay.
At present–polling stations have been set up in 23 countries–including 6 CIS-member states. All polling stations are located at Armenian embassies or permanent mission headquarters. In the United States–polling stations have been set up in New York–California and Washington.
