YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Prime Minister Armen Darbinian met with Egyptian Ambassador to Armenia Said Imam Mahmud Said–Friday. The ambassador congratulated Darbinian on his appointment as Prime Minister of Armenia.
Ambassador Said voiced his satisfaction with the development of relations between the two countries in political–cultural and other sectors–saying–however–that the potential of cooperation in economic and commercial spheres is not being completely utilized.
Darbinian vowed to promote the development of commercial–economic and business relations between Armenia and Egypt.
The two also discussed the possibility of beginning a Yerevan-Cairo air route–as well as the establishment of ties between the Social Investment Fund of Armenia and similar institutes in Egypt. Egypt’s ambassador stressed that his country’s businessmen are ready to create joint ventures and make investment in Armenia’s economy.
