GLENDALE—The Board of Regents of the Prelacy Armenian Schools announced the appointment of David Ghoogasian as the new principal of Mesrobian Armenian School.  A proud graduate of Armenian Mesrobian School, Ghoogasian, served as the Principal of his alma mater from 1991-1999.

His educational/professional background includes a degree in psychology as well as certificates from the Principals Academy and the Curriculum and Instructional Leaders Academy. Ghoogasian is an educational consultant/trainer and school improvement facilitator, who has a rich background in education, which includes teaching, counseling, administration, and professional development. He trains and teaches parents, students, and educators with backgrounds ranging from early childhood education through college and university instruction. He is a sought-after speaker and consultant, who presents and trains nationally and internationally for public, private, and independent schools, school organizations, school districts, institutions of higher learning, conferences, and the corporate world.  He also teaches through education extension programs for the University of California, where he is a recipient of the “Distinguished Instructor Award” and the “Dean’s Outstanding Service Award” from UCI Education Extension.

“The Prelacy Armenian Schools and specifically Mesrobian Armenian School is a familiar environment for David Ghoogasian. For many years, Ghoogasian has been involved with our schools, in particular Mesrobian Armenian School and he has been an active member of the Armenian American community. We have great confidence in Ghoogasian’s abilities and we are certain that he will be able to further advance the educational growth of our students at Mesrobian Armenian School. His knowledge and the dedication to the Armenian community, coupled with his extensive educational background makes him a unique candidate for the position. We strongly believe that with the cooperation and collaboration of the faculty, the School Board, and local and school committees, Ghoogasian will succeed in continuing the advancement of Mesrobian Armenian School. We are grateful to have him back at Mesrobian Armenian School” said Board of Regents Co-Chair Maggie Sarkuni.

The Board Of Regents of the Prelacy Armenian Schools congratulates David Ghoogasian and the Mesrobian Armenian School community and wish them continued success in their mission.
