GLENDALE-A unique reception-ceremony took place on November 18 at the Glendale Brandview Collection Hall to mark and appreciate the accomplishmen’s of the Davidian-Mariamian Educational Foundation. The undertaking was sponsored by the Prelate of the Armenian Apostolic Church-Western Region–Bishop Moushegh Mardirossian. More than 200 guests attended–including Consul-General Valery Mkrtumian–US Congressman Adam Schiff–Glendale Mayor Rafi Manoukian–Chairman of the Glendale Educational Council James Brown and others. The honorable guests all stressed that the Foundation’s recently published Armenian language textbooks are a valuable contribution to both Armenian and American cultures.
Foundation Chairman Harmik Baghdasarian expressed gratitude to all those who constantly support the activities of the Foundation–noting its history of progress throughout the years.
Founded in 1987 with an after school educational program in only one Glendale School–the program is now incorporated into nineteen public Glendale–Burbank and Los Angeles elementary schools.
During the ceremony–the two recently published Armenian language textbooks were unveiled. One of the two textbooks is dedicated to all Californian firefighters as a token of appreciation for their exclusive service to the community.
A placard was presented to the group of firefighters present at the ceremony.
