Armenia’s Defense Ministry on Wednesday said that it expects that Armenia’s allies will have a “clear reaction” to violations and aggression by Azerbaijan.
Speaking to foreign military attachés accredited in Armenia, Levon Ayvazyan, the head of the defense policy and international cooperation department of the defense ministry, presented a briefing about Azerbaijan’s encroachments on Armenia’s sovereign border, most recently, the week-long military offensive targeting the Yeraskh border region in the Armenia’s Ararat Province.
Ayvazyan especially highlighted the aggressive rhetoric emanating from the Azerbaijani military-political leadership that implies Baku’s territorial aspirations toward the Republic of Armenia, saying that posturing undermines efforts to establish lasting peace in the region.
The defense ministry leader emphasized that Armenia continues to remain committed to a peaceful settlement of the situation, nevertheless, pointing out that Yerevan reserves the right to take all necessary measures to prevent and counter such incidents.
