YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–"I served wholeheartedly as deputy minister of culture for a year and tomorrow I am going to resign. I have already prepared a letter of resignation to be sent to the minister of culture and the prime minister," Deputy Minister of Culture–Youth Affairs and Sports–film-maker Vigen Chaldrian announced at a press conference on Wednesday.
He said the post would be a burden for him–because he plans to shoot a new film. He intends to meet with the prime minister to discuss problems of Armenian cinematography. Chaldrian stressed the need for re-equipping "Armenfilm" to turn it into what he called "a movie-factory." It’s time a national cinematography center was set up for "Armenfilm," Chaldrian added.
