YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The prime minister held consultations on Sunday during which problems of developing tourism in Armenia were discussed.
Summing up the results of discussions–the prime minister pointed out that there is no need for setting up a state agency–however–government support is needed to develop tourism in Armenia.
It was founded advisable to charge the Armenian Development Agency with the functions of developing tourism–providing it with premises–technical means and personnel.
After the elaboration of a bill on tourism by the ministries concerned–the bill will be submitted to the National Assembly for discussion.
The elaboration and implementation of long-term programs concerning tourism are especially important on the threshold of the celebration of the 1700th anniversary of the adoption of Christianity as a state religion in Armenia.
