YEREVAN(Noyan Tapan)– The "Encyclopedia of the Armenian Consumer" which presents information about the rights of the consumer protected by legislative and normative acts of Armenia–was published recently by the Consumer Rights Protection Union–assisted by the USAID and sponsored by the Eurasia Foundation.
Talking to Noyan Tapan–the project director–chairman of`the Consuler Rights Protection Union–Abgar Yegoyan–pointed to the insufficiency of knowledge about the rights of the consumer in Armenia. This is present even among representatives of regional state inspectorates which are supposed to safeguard the rights of the consumer and see that trade activities–public nutrition and services in Armenia are in keeping with the law.
The encyclopedia also includes articles of the laws and normative acts of Armenia–as well as different rules of trade and public services–which regulate the rights of the consumer. Also included are–different labels for postal transference and telephone services–a list of goods subject to certification–and the rules of customs examination of tourists.
"Encyclopedia of the Armenian Consumer" was published in 3,290 copies.
