YEREVAN (Armenpress)–The Eurasia Foundation in concert with the non-governmental organization Union of Community Financiers has developed a computerized program for local self-government bodies. The funds are being provided by USAID.
The program will enable communities to calculate their budgets–create electronic maps–and on-line population and real estate data bases. A total of $20,000 worth of computer equipment and salaries for fourteen months will be given to each community for the creation and implementation of the computer programs.
It should be noted that all the programs were developed by Armenian experts and according a US expert Malcolm Simpson from the USA Urban Institute–they are as good as the ones prepared by Western specialists.
