YEREVAN (Arka)—Food prices in Armenia soared 5.6 percent in December, compared with November, according to a report by Armenia’s National Statistical Service.
The rise in the price index was driven by increases in dairy prices, meat products, coffee and soft drinks, fruits, and a whopping 18.2 percent increase in prices for vegetables and potatoes.
Bread and other bakery products climbed 5.9 percent in December compared with the same month a year before, and 4.3 percent compared with the previous month.
Consumer prices in general in Armenia rose 3 percent in December, compared with the previous month.
Some products saw decreases in price, including footwear, cosmetic products, and office supplies.
Prices in the services sector increased by 0.7 percent from November. The rise was prompted by an increase in prices for legal and banking services, transportation, and recreational services.
No worries, Russia will save us!
5.6 percent in one month? No doubt, the more we cozy up with the Alpha bear the more we will suffer. Now that we’re a part of the new CCCP regional world order, our faith will be determined by sanctions, recessions, devaluations and drop in oil prices. The picture is not pretty especially after we factor in the bear’s recent attempts of rapprochement with Turkey and Azerbaijan.
God protect the Armenian people and the Fatherland from all Russophiles both foreign and domestic.
