YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Iranian Foreign ministers Kamal Kharrazi and Greek foreign minister Georgios Papandreu arrived in Yerevan Tuesday to participate in the third meeting of foreign ministers of the Iran-Armenia-Greece trilateral cooperation member countries.
"As members of the Council of Europe and the European Union we are in close cooperation with Armenia in the context of its pro-European orientation–and we will make every effort to deepen these relations," Papandreu said at Yerevan’s airport upon his arrival. He added that a number of issues regarding the energy and transport sectors would be discussed during the Yerevan meeting.
Kharrazi pointed to the importance of the upcoming trilateral meeting–which is essential to the region’s economic advancement. He emphasized that cooperation is not aimed against any third state but is supposed to develop the economies of the participating countries only.
