YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ara Papyan made a statement on Friday in which he said:
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia expresses its regret over the withdrawal of the Genocide Resolution from the agenda of the US Congress’s House of Representatives.
"Nevertheless–regardless of the Resolution–Armenia has always urged Turkey to start a dialogue over the discussion of the Genocide issue and normalization of relations.
"On October 3–the US Department of State also urged Armenia and Turkey to initiate a dialogue over the issue of the Armenian Genocide. Armenia’still considers dialogue to be the best form of discussing this issue and expresses a hope that Turkey will meet this appeal halfway."
