The Board of Regents of the Prelacy Armenian Schools on Friday announced the appointment of Garine Aznavourian-Joukadarian as the new Director of Levon and Hasmig Tavlian Armenian Preschool.
Aznavourian-Joukadarian holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Armenian linguistics and literature and is set to complete UCLA’s Extension Early Childhood Education Program in June 2016, where she will earn both a teaching and supervisory core certificate.
Aznavourian-Joukadarian has over 12 years of teaching experience as a primary Armenian language teacher at Vahan and Anoush Chamlian Armenian School and an active member of our community. From 2004-2005 she served as a volunteer at the Pasadena Armenian Center after school tutoring program, where she provided assistance to students in Armenian language development and guidance.
“After being informed by Mrs. Helen Manoucherian, who has served as Preschool Director of Levon and Hasmig Tavlian Armenian Preschool for the past 21 years, about her decision to retire, the Board of Regents set out to find the best qualified candidate for the Director position. After an extensive search to find the ideal candidate for the Director position, we are happy to inform the community about the appointment of Mrs. Garine Aznavourian-Joukadarian as the Director of Levon and Hasmig Tavlian Armenian Preschool. We have great confidence in Mrs. Aznavourian-Joukadarian’s capabilities and believe that with the cooperation and strong support of the Pasadena Community, the faculty, the School Board, and the parents, Mrs. Aznavourian-Joukadarian will succeed in further advancing Levon and Hasmig Tavlian Armenian Preschool” said the Board of Regents chairwoman Lisa Gaboudian.
The Board of Regents extended its congratulations to Garine Aznavourian-Joukadarian and the Levon and Hasmig Tavlian Armenian Preschool community and wished them continued success in their mission.
