GLENDALE, Calif. —Shant Sahakian on Tuesday announced that all five members of the Glendale Community College Board of Trustees have endorsed his campaign for Glendale School Board District D. The Board of Trustees includes President Anita Quinonez Gabrielian, Dr. Armine Hacopian, Ann Ransford, Dr. Vahe Peroomian, and Tony Tartaglia.
“I am incredibly proud to endorse Shant Sahakian for Glendale School Board’s District D seat,” said GCC Board of Trustees President Anita Quinonez Gabrielian. “As a GCC alumnus, he sets a positive example for all of our students. His extensive experience and dedication to the community makes him the best choice for GUSD’s District D.”
“I am so proud to join all of my colleagues and endorse Shant Sahakian for Glendale School Board’s District D seat,” said Glendale Community College Board of Trustees Vice President Dr. Armine Hacopian. “His years of experience serving Glendale’s youth and families will make him a great Glendale School Board Member.”
“As a product of the Glendale Unified School District and Glendale Community College, he will bring a unique perspective and important voice to the Glendale School Board,” stated Glendale Community College Trustee Ann Ransford. “His leadership and vision will help us make our public schools even better for the next generation of students.”
“Shant has been a strong and effective advocate for the youth of our community,” said Glendale Community College Trustee Dr. Vahe Peroomian. “I am confident that he is going to help our students reach new heights as our next Glendale School Board Member.”
“As a business leader and community leader, he knows what it takes for our students to be successful in this 21st century economy,” stated Glendale Community College Trustee Tony Tartaglia. “I am confident that he will make every effort to ensure that our students are college or career ready when they graduate from high school.”
The unanimous endorsement from the Glendale Community College Board of Trustees follows endorsements from Former GUSD Board Member Sandy Russell and GUSD Board Member and Past President Christine Walters. Walters will not be running for re-election in April 2017 and Sahakian would succeed her on the Glendale School Board if elected.
“It is an honor to receive the unanimous endorsement and support of the Glendale Community College Board of Trustees,” said Sahakian. “We share a passion for the success of our students in the community and I look forward to collaborating with them to advance the needs of our GUSD and GCC students.”
