YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Armenia expressed its anxiety over the recent political developmen’s in Georgia on Friday. "Armenia is concerned with the ongoing political turmoil in Georgia–as its inner-political stability is just as important for us–as the inner-political stability of Armenia," said Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian on Friday.
"We are closely following the developmen’s there," Oskanian said–adding that the Armenia’s leadership was in constant contact with Georgian authorities.
Oskanian described the turmoil in Georgia as a "political struggle developing within government bodies." He said Armenia was not going to look deep into the reasons of the turmoil–but was rather focused on the possibility that this turmoil could affect the inner-political stability of the entire region.
Oskanian avoided describing the events in Georgia as "an attempted coup d’etat."
