SACRAMENTO—Gov. Jerry Brown issued a proclamation on the anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. Below is the text of the proclamation:
Between 1915 and 1923, Armenians were subjected to torture, starvation, mass murder and exile from their historic homeland. 1.5 million lost their lives. The Armenian Genocide, also known as the “First Genocide of the Twentieth Century,” represented a deliberate attempt by the Ottoman Empire to eliminate all traces of a thriving noble civilization.
Armenian communities all over the world commemorate this tragedy on April 24. On this day, we honor the victims and survivors of the genocide, and reaffirm our commitment to preventing future atrocities from being committed against any people.
NOW THEREFORE I, EDMUND G. BROWN JR., Governor of the State of California, do hereby proclaim Tuesday, April 24, 2012 as “Day of Remembrance of the Armenian Genocide.”
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of California to be affixed this 19th day of April 2012.
Thank You Governor Jerry Brown
For your Golden Words…
“Noble Civilization”
Something… We can’t say about ourselves
Other populaces’ from The East till West
call us ‘ Honest Artful Race’
You added another respectful word ‘Noble…Nobleness’
To say we belong to ‘Noble Race’…
We can never change our attitudes…
As Nobleness exists in our genes…!

I hereby wish to thank Governor of the State of California, for his proclaimation April 24, 2012 as “Day of Remembrance of the Armenian Genocide.
Armenians share their Nobel civilization everywhere in this small world, even in Ottoman Turkey, but Turks, even today, they have one dream, eliminate traces of Nobel civilization race!!
now one thing the ANC and California Armenians should do , ask the Governor to pardon
Hampig Sassounian who served more than 30 years in prison , Mehmmet Ali Agca is
released many years ago but H Sassounian not released because of all the stupid pressures
by the fascist Turkish government on the state department
EDMUND G. BROWN JR., Governor of the State of California FREE SASSOUNIAN NOW !
There is a better chance of President Obama recognizing the Armenian Genocide than the US Government releasing someone they believe murdered a Turkish Diplomat.
