YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–"Vazgen Sargsyan is seeking to oust Robert Kocharian and succeed him as president," the Azeri AzadInform new agency quoted Azeri state advisor for foreign policy Vafa Guluzade who commented on remarks made by Armenia’s defense minister Vazgen Sargsyan during a report on CNN.
The source reported that in the said interview–Sargsyan–in discussing an end to the Karabakh war and victory for Armenia–commented that the country had been waiting for this historical victory for many years–and will always celebrate it.
The Azeri agency quoted Armenia’s defense minister as saying that the Karabakh conflict has been de facto resolved pending a de jure resoluton. The Azeri state advisor described Sargsyan’s words as ultra extremist and the words of a man’seeking to overthrow the president.
Meanwhile–Guluzade said that the Karabakh war was not a victory but a defeat for Armenia–since–according to him–the Karabakh war was waged by Russia–which is willing to strengthen its position in the region this way.
Stating that Armenia is an instrument in Russia’s hands–Guluzade said: "Armenia will be used–and in the long run it will be tricked."
