STEPANAKERT—Leaders of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Hai-Tahd committees headed to Stepanakert over the weekend and met with Nagorno-Karabakh Republic President Bako Sahakian and parliament speaker Ashot Ghoulyan.
During the meeting, Sahakian praised the activities of Hai-Tahd committees around the world, especially efforts for the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide, struggle for the aspirations of the Armenian nation and strengthening the Diaspora.
President Sahakian emphasized the need for Hai-Tahd committees to focus on the various aspects of the Karabakh conflict resolution process, especially the international recognition of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic and encouraged expanding cooperation with Karabakh authorities in that realm.
The Hai-Tahd representatives, who were headed by ARF Bureau member Hagop Der-Khachadourian, also met with the parliament speaker, who presented the posturing of official Stepanakert and the work ahead in the current phase of the conflict resolution process.
Ghoulyan said that under any circumstances are the veracity of the Armenian Genocide and Karabakh’s right to self-determination to become topics of discussion, adding that the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic must become part of the negotiation process.
The two sides also discussed the need to dispel the myth that returning liberated territories would lead to peace. In fact, it was concluded, making concessions increases the chance for resumption of war.
The Hai-Tahd delegation also met with Artsakh Primate Archbishop Parkev Martirosian, who briefed his guests on the activities of the Karabakh Diocese.
Participants of the Hai-Tahd conference also took part in celebrations marking the 18th anniversary of the liberation of Shoushi and the 65th anniversary of Soviet victory over Nazi Germany.

wow what a great and inspiring meeting. I love jai dat. They really do care about artsakh. When a powerful organization like hai dat pay such kind of visits it says alot. Firstly it sends a strong message to turks that we have our american_armenian brave brothers next to us. thanks to hai dat. Proud of you
Without the leadership of Hai-Tahd , it would be impossible to carry our national struggle for justice forward, sadly, I can’t say the say for this corrupt government in Armenia who are only interested in festering their pockets instead of looking after the public and our national interests.
yes there is a corruptin, but the situation is getting better. if you look at 15 post soviet republics they all have that problem, even russia. You can’t compare post communist countries with westers states. However, I’m optimistic and like to look forward. Regarding the Karabakh, the present president and many high officials are from Artsakh, so they will never give up or do one sided compromisses to azeries. Our president was one of the brave patriots who fought for liberation of Artsakh. Am not saying he is the best but he’s done alot for Armenian and Artsakh. Would like to alos note that turkish issue was one of his buggest mistakes…
Really, I can’t understand how we can come out as winners from negotiation process when there is a the president and government which violate the every-day rights of citizens. It’s an absurd that such person is going to think about state, they have not even statehood thinking. They are thinking just about their interests. There is a criminal oligarchy in Armenia. How to have such a situation and think about strong state. It’s nonsence.
There is some points which must be clear:
1. The government of the state can have victories in foreign affairs if it’s elected by people.— There is no such situation in Armenia.
2. If we don’t have legitimate government it will become puppet in great powers’ hands.
3. The strong state is the state where people can live and act as real citizens. — In Armenia the whole state is divided among some oligarchs which think about enrichment not about state’s future.
4. Diaspora must help to develop state where is rule of law and not close eyes on everything thinking that it will weaken Armenia, because today’s situation is the weakest one.
5. Such State brings to the emigration of people.
