YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–A 20 percent increase in production was reported in the Zangezur integrated copper-molybdenum plant in 1998 as compared to the previous year. In January-February of 1999 the volume of production at the plant increased by 12 times as compared to the same period last year. Director of the plant Maksim Hakobian said that by the end of the year the plant is expected to increase the volume of production by 25 percent as compared to the 1998 showings. He pointed out that another 30 jobs were created in the two shops that were recently opened at the plant. By March 1–the plant had employed 2,160 workers who are paid 53,000 drams a month.
