AKHALKALAK, Georgia (A-Info)–Representatives of Armenian public organization in Samtskhe-Javakheti met with the US Embassy attach? Scott Perish and political affairs director Joy Davis-Kirschner at the Embassy compound in Tbilisi.
The Armenian organizational representatives presented the Embassy officials with a memorandum outlining the needed steps toward improving the living conditions of the Armenian communities of Samtskhe-Javakheti and Kuemo Cartili. The document also outlines the Georgian government’s commitmen’s to the European Community vis-?-vis the Armenian community there.
After being briefed, Davis-Kirschner expressed interest in visiting Javakhk to gain first-hand knowledge of the situation there.
A similar meeting was held Monday with the German embassy attach? Tomas Hentshel and the OSCE Human Rights office director Tina Gevis, both of whom were presented the aforementioned memorandum.
On Nov. 27, the Samtskhe-Javakheti organizational representatives distributed the said memorandum to the UN and European Union offices in Tbilisi, as well as the Armenian Embassy in Georgia and the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament and the current acting president Nino Bourdjanadze.
