LOS ANGELES–Anoushavan Danielian–Prime Minister of the Nagorn Karabakh Republic paid a formal visit to the Western Prelacy Wednesday.
Danielian was accompanied by the Executive Director of the Armenia Fund–Vahan Der Ghevontian–the Consul General of the Republic of Armenia in Los Angeles Armen Melkonian and Karabakh’s representative in Washington Vartan Parseghian and Armenia Fund chairman Zaven Khanjian.
The group was welcomed by His Grace Bishop Moushegh Mardirossian–Prelate of the Western Prelacy. Present were Attorney Arsen Danielian–a member of the Central Executive Council–Rev. Fathers Vazken Atmajian and Viken Vassilian; members of the Religious Council–Vache Madenlian–Sarkis Kitsinian–Kevork Atmajian and Varoujan Der Simonian; members of the Executive Council and Avedis Ispenjian–representative of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Central Committee of the Western US.
The ninety minute meeting was an opportunity to discuss the present situation of the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh. During the meeting–the importance of the forthcoming telethon whose funds are to go towards constructing a new road in Karabakh was emphasized.
The positive results of the Armenia-Diaspora Conference were also discussed during the meeting; the Conference was regarded as a new historic page in the relations between the Motherland and the Armenian Diaspora–as well as a positive point of departure for future cooperation.
The Prime Minister expressed deep satisfaction for all financial support of the Armenia’s both in Armenia and the Diaspora towards Karabakh and its cause and mainly stressed that this support to boost the unyielding position of the people in the Republic.
Prelate Moushegh Mardirossian took the opportunity to express the greetings and the blessing of His Holiness Aram I–Catholics of the Great House of Cilicia. He once again renewed the commitment of the Western Prelacy to do its best to make the forthcoming telethon a complete success. The Prelate and the members of the Councils were unanimous in expressing the ongoing support of the Armenia’s of the Diaspora towards Karabakh and its cause and also to participate in the process of rebuilding the Motherland.
Before bidding farewell–the Tanielian presented a valuable gift to Prelate Moushegh Mardirossian. The gift was a hand made wall carpet from Karabakh.
