YEREVAN (panorama.am)–Kim Kardashian together with her husband Kanye West, their daughter and other members of the Kardashian family have just arrived in Yerevan. In Armenia the Kardashians plan to visit the Dzidzernagapert Memorial Complex dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide as well as several places of historical and cultural importance.

The Kardashians’ visit to Armenia was organized by the joint efforts of the Armenia Development Fund and “SIMA Tours USA” travel company, with the support of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia.

The Director of Armenia Development Fund (ADF) Arman Khachaturyan in his interview to Panorama.am said that the visit of the Kardashian family should be regarded as a family pilgrimage to the homeland of their ancestors, an act which should be but very highly praised.

ADF President particularly stressed the fact that after having been uprooted from their centuries-old homeland, cast out and orphaned, the survivors of the Armenian nation haven’t forgotten their martyrs and have fulfilled the commandment of being reborn and succeeding in life. Inspired and empowered by the vision of the renaissance of the Armenian world, they have recreated their individual and communal lives, built churches and schools and have preserved our culture.

In ADF President’s words, even after three and four generations the Armenian Diaspora has remained strong and firm and our world-famous compatriots with Armenian roots have through their persistent work become successful and influential people who pursue the demand for justice and for Genocide recognition, while Armenia has become a big source of pride and inspiration for them. In this regard the ADF plans to continuously invite famous people of Armenian descent to Armenia with the aim of fostering their ties with the homeland.

Before the Kardashian family started their journey, American US Weekly had reported that “They are really proud of their heritage and want to spend quality time there. Armenia is their big trip of the season… All of the girls are very interested in that,” the source said.

While Artsakh troops are dying defending the border and the honor of Armenia, certain ‘Armenians’ are celebrating a so-called ‘family’ who stand for the exact opposite of what Armenian family values are and for what our nation and culture stand for. I don’t care about this immoral, low class ‘family’, but I am more disturbed by both those ‘Armenians’ who think this Godforsaken band of cultural frauds are ‘normal’ and by Armenian news outlets, including Asbarez who shamelessly display them to the Armenian public, as if it is something to be proud of. You people complain about Turks this and Turks that, but you are alright with a harlot whose morals and values make a mockery of our 1.5 million martyrs? If only our Fedayis who sacrificed themselves for the honor of the Armenian nation could see this filth and degradation that has taken hold of Armenians today including a “news source that represents their legacy”, I’m sure they are turning in their graves.

@Hagop D: what you are saying is a lot of Bull Shit, Kardashians are doing a great job by bringing the media coverage, at least they are not seating on their ass by doing nothing and by forgeting their roots, if you are worried that they are exact opposite of what Armenian family values are, GO and save the Armenian prostitutes that are in thousands and tens of thousends working in Turkey and in Arab countries jus to make a living, STOP THE BULL SHIT

        GeorgeMardig,

If you have an Armenian mother or an Armenian sister they would say to you “Bite your tongue”. I hope you have, because Armenian women are the best mothers in the world.

Just think about that when you talk about Armenian women. Who gave the data on “thousands of … and tens of thousands of …”? Is it Turkey’ MI or Israel’s Mossad propaganda?

These comments from fellow Armenians are so incredibly shortsighted. Say what you will about the Kardashian family but they are now very successful businesswomen and they are choosing to bring their celebrity to an issue that needs attention.

No one has ever noted the Armenian Genocide except for the small suburb of Glendale and now that arguably the most famous TV star and most famous rapper are literally in Yerevan discussing these issues, you’re too good for them?

Beggars can’t be choosers. Good on the Kardashian family for supporting the cause and being proud of their heritage.

And Darwin, no fucking shit she’s returning to America.

To Hagop D, Random Armenian and D. Jamgochian. Simply stop dividing Armenians into “good” and “not-so-good” because they don’t fit into your rules. You will feel better.

And most of all stop talking on behalf of the Armenian nation. Do you actually speak, write and read in Armenian? Do you know our petty, music? Do you want to learn? Ask theses questions to yourself. And if the answer is yes, then it is a big paradox that you are so mean toward Armenians.

Beautiful Armenian ladies are visiting land of their ancestors. Nobody asks you to clap your hands, but don’t through stones, neither. What is happening to you, people?

Please read “poetry”, not “petty” in 4-th line. Thank you.
