Kim Kardashian Upset at Turkish Cosmo Cover

The cover Kardashian is upset about

LOS ANGELES—Reality star and celebrity Kim Kardashian is upset over the use of her photo on the cover of the Turkish edition of Cosmopolitan magazine, reported the entertainment Web site TMZ on Monday.
According to the site, Kardashian is upset because she would never allow her picture to be published on the cover the Turkish Cosmo, especially so close to April 24 and the 96th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
Kardashian did an international photo shoot, the pictures from which were used by several editions of Cosmo, reported TMZ, adding that the magazine did not inform Kardashian or her representatives that the photos would appear in the Turkish edition.
No immediate comment from Cosmo.
“It’s disrespectful to Kim Kardashian and to all Armenians for the publishers of Cosmopolitan to use her image, without her permission, on the month we mark Turkey’s genocide against the Armenian people,” Executive Director of the Armenian National Committee of America, Aram Hamparian told TMZ.
“Instead of trying to turn a profit in Turkey by callously featuring a cover photo of a descendant of Armenian Genocide survivors in its April issue, Cosmopolitan should find creative ways to educate its readers about the Turkish government’s shameful effort to cover up this atrocity,” continued Hamparian.
Lending his outrage to the Kardashian situation was LA-based lawyer Mark Geragos, saying “it’s another example of the Turks rubbing salt in the wound of the Armenian people,” reported TMZ.
Geragos, who according to TMZ is Kardashian’s friend, said that Turkey is on a campaign to “co-opt” LA icons. “The Turks used Kobe Bryant’s image to promote Turkish Airlines, and now Kim,” reported TMZ.

    Turks are turks!
No wonder. They, the TURKS can go to any extremity. These Cosmo people have no respect for any one or anything. A few months ago they performed the ungraceful act of having Armenian church photos of ANI. Now Kim kardashian’s photo on the 1st cover!
I suggest to immediatly SUE these people just for the sake of publicity. In the court, ( let us choose the highest one) once more we can get another advantage! Any material gain can go to Haye Tad or to Artsakh!
That may cure the latest turkish “Salt rubbing” pain!

Why are you hiding under an Armenian name?
          Yet another turkish trate.
GDP does not matter. It’s the Armenian spirit you are afraid of.

This was strictly done for publicity=$. This is now on CNN (believe it or not), Hurriyet, here, etc. More publicity equals more sales of Cosmo.

Everybody take a deep breath and calm down. Let’s look at this a different way. The Turks tried to kill us off. They failed. We went to many different nations around the world and we survived. We are proud of our heritage. And to show you how successful we are we’re on the cover of your magazine. Imagine that, an Armenian face on a Turkish magazine.

Why …. very simple, living in USA, enjoying life, we have some extra time lets chat about Armenia, the best thing we can do is to send 100$ and feel satisfied, or to participate in a demonstration…..

Come on my Armenian Friends! What’s wrong with using her photo in Turkish Cosmo. We like her, too. We watch her programmes on TV and we have the right to see her beautiful photos in our magazines. After all she has a Turkish family name:)))

I see nothing wrong with this episode.
    This is the twenty-first century.
Not a time to resolve problems by brinkmanship, hating or killing but by talking to each other and allowing ourselves to interact as friends.
I wouldn’t make an issue out of it other than thank the Turks for anther friendly gesture in the face of the hostile howling that we have allowed ourselves to engage in so far.
I am satisfied that there can be no peace between us unless we allow ourselves to live and interact as good neighbors.
Our histories are inextricably intertwined because like the rest of the original inhabitants of the Christianized Middle East, we were not able to defend our homes and our lands against the Islamic onslaughts. Muslims were far better oriented at killing and plundering us and taking our land. To this day I feel that the Islamic religion is perfectly suited for killing and subjugating other people whereas the Christian religion is good only in creating a civil, orderly and hard-working society.
