YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–President Robert Kocharian and Prime Minister Armen Darbinian held their first official meeting Monday.
Noting the importance of proceeding with market economy reforms–both the president and prime minister underlined the necessity of introducing new approaches and principles. "The final target of the reforms is to ensure a good quality of life for the people of Armenia and this is the very goal all reforms must serve to," Kocharian said.
Darbinian assured that the government would proceed with consistent work aimed at developing domestic production–operating of industrial enterprises–creating conditions needed to increase the number of new workplaces.
Kocharian and Darbinian conferred about issues concerning the principles of formation and structure of a new government.
