YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Armenian President Robert Kocharian met on Friday with a delegation led by the governor of Russia’s Saratov province–Dmitry Ayatskov.
The President’s press office reported that Kocharian generally welcomed establishing economic ties with separate provinces of Russia–and was confident that the meeting would be productive.
In his words: "the visit will present the opportunity to determine the direction of bilateral and mutually beneficial cooperation."
Stressing that about 30.000 Armenia’s live in Saratov province–Dmitry Ayatskov said that almost all of them are employed–and are involved in most spheres of life in the Province. He revealed that economic cooperation between Armenia and the Saratov province is developing successfully–evidenced by the rise in trade of consumer products. In order to strengthen the progress–he emphasized the need to establish ties between the businessmen and joint enterprises of Armenia and the Province.
Russia’s Saratov province has a developed economy and is a large region located in the central area of Russia.
