YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Armenian President Robert Kocharian commented that the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs would come up with a new package proposal for the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict based on results of the Key West talks.
Upon his return to Armenia–the president told journalists that after the new proposal is presented at the next meeting scheduled in Geneva–co-chairing countries might exert moderate pressure on the conflicting parties for the provisions of the document to be translated into reality. According to Kocharian–further freezing of the situation does not benefit neither the mediators–nor the parties involved in the conflict. Kocharian said that he was satisfied with the position of the co-chairmen and voiced hope that the Azeri side felt the same. On the issue of the Karabakh side joining in the peace process–Kocharian only said that he had raised the issue.
