YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Armenia’s President Robert Kocharian will leave for the Republic of Belarus on a two-day official visit June 6.
The president’s party will include Minister of Trade and Economic Development Karen Chshmaritian–Minister of Agriculture David Zadoyan–Minister of Education and Science Levon Mkrtchian–Yerevan Mayor Robert Nazarian–Parliament member Vladimir Badalian–Armenia’s Ambassador to Belarus Suren Haroutiunian–other officials–businessmen and journalists.
After the official ceremony of the meeting–the two countries’ presidents will have a tte–tte talk followed by Armenian-Belarus enlarged negotiations.
The discussion will mainly focus on political issues–the trade-economic cooperation between Armenia and Belarus–and expanded interaction within international organizations. Documents about a protocol to the agreement between the governmen’s of the two countries about free trade–mutual entry visa-free visits of citizens of Armenia and Belarus–as well as about mutual supplies ammunition and materiel will be signed.
A joint press conference of the presidents of Armenia and Belarus is also expected.
On June 6–Robert Kocharian will meet with Prime Minister of Belarus Gennady Novitski–and visit the territory assigned for the construction of Armenia’s embassy in Belarus to lay the first stone.
On the second day of the visit–June 7–President Kocharian will meet with representatives of the local Armenian community.
