KRASNODAR, Russia–Armenian Revolutionary Federation Bureau chairman Hrant Markarian over the weekend visited the Krasnodar region in southern Russia, where he held a meeting with the Armenian community, reported the Russian-Armenian newspaper Yergramas.
During the meeting, the ARF leader presented the party’s history and current activities, highlighting the role it plays in today’s Armenian political life.
In his presentation, Markarian also emphasized the important role the Russian-Armenian community plays in the Armenian reality today and urged the imperative of that community taking its rightful place in the Armenian Diaspora.
He also explained that the ARF had played a key role in the advancement of Russian-Armenian relations. Markarian pointed to a recent agreement signed between the ARF and the pro-government Just Russia party, in which the two parties will work toward the strengthening of Russian-Armenian relations in the economic, political, social and cultural realms.
Markarian explained that one of the provisions of the aforementioned agreement was also to protect the rights of the Russian and Armenian communities in both countries.
Markarian outlined that the cooperation also extended to the parliamen’s of both countries, where both parties are represented in the legislature.
