YEREVAN (Armenpress)—The State of Kuwait has announced it will allocate $100,000 to the non-governmental organization Center for Coordination of Syrian Armenian Affairs. The corresponding agreement will be signed on September 27 at the Ministry of the Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia.
As reported to Armenpress by the Ministry, the money will be allocated to assist schools and other educational programs implemented for Syrian Armenians living in Armenia. The signing of the agreement will be attended by the Minister of the Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan.
Currently about 10,000 Syrian Armenians live in Armenia and are permanently supported by the Ministry of the Diaspora in terms of housing and employment. About 1,000 Syrian Armenians applied to the Ministry and were provided with jobs.
