LOS ANGELES–The Western Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church of North America issued a communiqu Thursday informing that the Nevada-based Lincy Foundation donated $500,000 to the Western Prelacy. The text of the communiqu follows:
The Lincy Foundation Make a New $500,000 Allocation to the Western Prelacy
The Prelate–His Grace Bishop Moushegh Mardirossian–the Religious and Executive Councils of the Western Prelacy announce with great pleasure that–the Lincy Foundation has made a now allocation of $500,000.
In his letter addressed to the Prelate–dated July 28–1997–Mr. James Aljian–Chairman of the Lincy Foundation–enclosed a check for the sum of $200,000–as the first installment of this allocation. The rest will be transmitted to the Western Prelacy in three equal annual installmen’s of $100,000 each.
In reference to this allocation–His Grace–Bishop Moushegh Mardirossian stated: "This amount will be utilized to finance the social service and orphanage projects supervised by the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia. In praise of the Lincy Foundation–His Grace said: "His Holiness–Catholicos Aram I–and the Western Prelacy highly appreciate the role the Lincy Foundation plays in the domains of national–educational–charitable and humanitarian projects. Through its commitmen’s and generous financial assistance–the Lincy Foundation contributes to the progress and well-being of our people.
