YEREVAN (Armenpress)—Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister of Turkey Etyen Mahcupyan, who is of Armenian descent, gave an extensive interview to the Turkey’s “Just Remembrance” project, in which he talked about his activities as senior advisor, the developments ahead of the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide, the celebrations dedicated to Turkey’s victory in the Battle of Gallipoli and Armenian-Turkish relations.
Talking about his appointment to the office of Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister, Mahupyan stated that he fully supports the ruling Justice and Development Party. “As an intellectual and academic, I’ve always liked Ahmet Davutoglu. As a friend, I would like to see him succeed. I made the decision to become his chief advisor in three minutes. When he asked me to work with him, I said ‘of course,'” the Istanbul-born Armenian said, adding that his appointment to office had nothing to do with the Armenian Cause at all.
Touching upon the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations, he once again linked the opening of the Armenian-Turkish border and the normalization of relations to Armenian-Azerbaijani relations and the Karabakh conflict.
As for the events to be held on April 24, Mahçupyan mentioned that it seems as though this period “is paralyzing people.” “I believe there will be more tranquility after April 2015,” the advisor said.
Touching upon Istanbul’s Armenian Agos Weekly, the Senior Advisor to the Turkish Prime Minister said the newspaper has ceased to exist as a body representing all Armenians and has turned into a newspaper that presents the views of left-wing individuals and represents “mundane” Armenians.
Between Mahcupyan and Agos….let me proudly yell: Je suis a “mundane” Armenian.
Through out the history we always had traitors and this guy is not an exception.
He’s a mouthpiece of Turkish denialism
May he eat his words
ETYEN IS EITHER BRILLIANT OR TOTALLY OUTSIDE THE BOX ON THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE ISSUE. TURKEY KNOWS IT COMMITTED THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE AND SO DOES ETYEN AND SO DOES OBAMA AND MOST ANYONE WHO HAS EVER HEARD OF THE FIRST GENOCIDE OF THE CENTURY. THEY JUST CAN’T ADMIT IT FOR A VARIETY OF REASONS. I THINK HE IS PROBABLY AN ACADEMICIAN THAT IS IN OVER HIS HEAD OR HAS BEEN DRINKING SOME BAD COOL AID–HE SHOULD DRINK SOME CHAI FROM THE ARMENIAN DIASPORA OR DOES HE NOT HAVE THE GUTS TO STEP OUT TO THE REAL ARMENIAN WORLD? GOT TO HAND IT TO HIM FOR HIS ASCENDENCY TO SENIOR ADVISOR IN THE GOVERNMENT. HE MAY BE WORTH HEARING MORE FROM. TIME WILL TELL.
Well they say everybody has their price. This man was a bargain for the Turks.
is there any interest in the anti armenian pronouncements by this man to be printed and spread throug media ?. who cares what this turkish adviser has to say about ” mundane armenians “. He does not seem to care much about armenian issues , why did davotoglou appointed him as his advisor ? ‘ ‘ ‘
An Armenian supporting the state denail policy of turkey. What a shame , he’ll have the curse of his ancestors who were massacred during the Armenian Genocide, let him live with this sin, what a jerk.
”opening of the Armenian-Turkish border? Armenia’s population of 3 million should be out of their mind if they accept to open the border with an enemy of 80 million before solving all Armenian Issues, Genocide, Reparation, Woodraw Willson, etc..,
This guy Mahcupyan sounds as much Armenian as I am Chinese……or Turkish.
Davutoglu knew exactly the kind of product he was buying in Mahcupyan…
To be honest, I am not surprised of his stance on the Armenian Genocide. Most Armenians from Turkey either do not know or are afraid of speaking up about it. I write this with utmost respect, most Armenians from Turkey, even in America, for obvious reasons, do not observe Armenian Genocide Day.
The day the genocidal Turkish pimps and their pseudo-Turkish Azerbabooni slaves and hookers speak favorably about the Armenian plight and take action for the welfare of the Armenian nation is the day when pigs grow wings. They are all bunch of scumbags and wolves in sheep’s clothing.
It is by no accident that the Turkish-born Armenian journalist Agos editor, the late Hrant Dink, who openly spoke about the Armenian Genocide was killed in cold-blood secretly with full knowledge of the criminal Turkish government and as a direct result of the Article 301 of Turkish Penal Code, aka “Insulting Turkishness”, enacted into law by the current Turkish terrorist-in-chief Er-dog-an BUT this idiot Etyen Mahcupyan, a pawn in the hands of Turkish hyenas, was picked as an adviser to the very same government that never fails to cease the opportunity to deny the Armenian Genocide and to denigrate the memory of the 1,500,000 murdered victims of this crime.
The centennial of the battle of Gallipoli, and for the very first time this year, being deliberately commemorated on the same day as the Armenian Genocide commemoration day on April 24th, to overshadow the centennial commemoration of the Armenian Genocide is a recent and yet another example of an anti-Armenian scheme by these cunning Turkish vermin whose government this poor and lost soul advises. Shame on him!
He will be out of Davood Oghloos’s office after April 2015!
He is the incarnation of VASAK
