YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan–Armenpress)–The nuclear reactor at the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant was halted on February 14–at 8:30 p.m.–because of failures in the system.
Officials at the Emergency Management Administration said the temporary stoppage of the reactor was not linked to technological processes–rather it involved external factors. No safety parameter has been exceeded. The level of radiation remains unchanged. Repairs are under way. According to the Emergency Channel information center–none of the security supervising indicators diverted from the standards. After the repair of the break–the Plant will resume operation.
