PICO RIVERA – The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) announced that its Accrediting Commission for Schools has renewed the accreditation for Armenian Mesrobian School until June 30, 2014.
The renewal decision was based on the final report of the WASC visiting committee, whose members visited Mesrobian School on May 1, 2012 to review the school’s progress. In its final report, the visiting committee noted the “significant progress” Mesrobian School “has made in responding to the critical areas for follow-up and in carrying out the related action plan.” The report, among other commendations, stated that the “Visiting Committee was very impressed with the amount of progress Mesrobian School has made in a very short time.”
“We are elated by the accreditation renewal decision of the WASC Accrediting Commission,” stated Seto Boyadjian, Esq., the Principal of Mesrobian School. He added, “This decision was fairly based on the immense improvements and positive changes introduced in the administrative and academic processes of our school.”
Boyadjian concluded, “I would like to thank Mesrobian faculty, staff, parents and students, who embraced the WASC process, made every effort to improve the school, and reinstated the spirit and dedication for excellence at Mesrobian School.”
