YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Japan’s renowned Mitsubishi Motors Corporation opened its first office in Yerevan Tuesday. Armenian Mitsubishi Motors is a subsidiary of the Armenian "SIL" Concern and has a status of joint venture with the United Arab Emirates.
Armenian Mitsubishi Motors also opened an exhibition of Mitsubishi cars. President of SIL Concern–Khachatour Sukiassian–said that the office will trade in Mitsubishi cars and spare parts and provide car maintenance. The office will also import Mitsubishi cars from Dubai to Yerevan and to other CIS member-states. At the present time Mitsubishi cars are being imported to Russia by Dubai-Antwerp.
A total of eight types of Mitsubishi-manufactured cars were exhibited in the hall. The cars were said to be sold in Armenia at lower prices of $12,000-$35,000. Sukiassian believed that the new office would promote motor-building in Armenia.
