It has been a busy month for the Captain of Armenia’s National Soccer team and midfielder for Arsenal Henrikh Mkhitaryan who on Monday married Betty Vardanyan in a ceremony on San Lazzaro Island in Venice, Italy at the Mekhitarist Monastery.

Following the ceremony, the couple boarded a water taxi to their reception with three photographers onboard. Crowds lined the narrow streets and walkways to watch the soccer star and his new wife.

Betty Vardanyan is the daughter of Armenian businessman and former parliament member Mikael Vardanyan, whose holdings include the popular Grand Candy.

According to the London-based Daily Mail, the couple has kept their relationship out of the limelight. They were engaged in November, and according to the newspaper, were first spotted in public in the summer of 2018.

After the church ceremony, Mkhitaryan posted of picture of himself and his new wife on his Facebook page. Accompanied with a heart emoji, he wrote: “Marry me and stay with me forever.”

    Congrats dear compatriot.
Thank you for giving your best for our Armenia.
    Long live Armenia.
Any thug, Turkish or otherwise, planning to destroy Armenia, watch out, your Genocidal tendencies won’t go any further than your front doors.

PS: Turks of occupied Armenian and Greek lands (current day Turkey) and Turks of artificial Azerbaijan, can, are encouraged and are quite capable to eat “sheeeet.”
