YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–An assessment group of the NATO Chief Civil Emergency Planning Committee will arrive in Armenia on November 28. The purpose of the group’s visit is to study natural and technical disasters such as earthquakes–floods–landslides–mud-torrents–chemical and radio dangers. Their three-day visit will allow the group to make a preliminary assessment of the situation and determine further directions of cooperation.
The NATO Chief Civil Emergency Planning Committee has shown interest in the Caucasus during the last few years. This concerns the coordination of regional security.
