YEREVAN (Armenpress)–A book entitled–"Recognition and Chronicle of Armenian Genocide During 1915-2000" written by the director of the Armenian Genocide Museum–Lavrenty Barseghian–was recently published.
The author said that each year 20,000 people from approximately 80 countries visit the museum and in order to present the Genocide to foreigners–it was an essential task to create a chronicle of the Genocide.
According to statistics calculated by the museums–more than 4,600 Armenia’s–who were born before 1914 and were the eye-witnesses of the genocide–visited Armenia. However–only 1,200 are still alive.
Lavrenty Barseghian also said–that a card index was created in the museum–which includes biographies of about 18,000 Armenia’s–both victims–survivors–and the memoirs of witnesses.
