KRASNODAR (Armenpress–PanArmenian.Net)–Former natives of the Mountainous Karabagh Republic (MKR)–who were forced to flee the country in the late ’80s to escape persecution and death at the hands of the invading Azeris–and who later settled down in the southern Russian province of Krasnodar–have founded the organization "Call of the Homeland," which will seek to convince former MKR residents to return home. The organization will focus on publicizing current information about the situation in Karabagh and staging other events to help repatriation efforts. According to the organization’s leaders–persons interested in returning to MKR should first get acquainted with the various benefits provided to the refugee families courtesy of a MKR government resolution. MKR’s foreign minister Ashot Gulian addressed the organization’s constituent assembly on July 19. In his speech–Gulian noted that the Krasnodar province is home to the biggest Armenian community outside of Armenia; an estimated 1 million Armenia’s live in the region.
