YEREVAN (Yerkir)–The A-INFO news agency reported that the Akhalkalak court has voided the election results in 15 constituencies of Akhalkalak–citing low voter turnout. A new round of voting in the constituencies will take place on January 4–along with the Georgian presidential election.
Despite the Georgian Constitutional Court’s ruling voiding the results of the November 2 parliamentary elections held under the proportional system–as well as the referendum to change the number of seats in the parliament–the issue of validating the results under single-mandate system is still under consideration.
