YEREVAN—Russia does not plan on imposing a customs checkpoint between Karabakh and Armenia now that Armenia has joined the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), Head of the Russian Federal Customs Service Andrey Belyaninov told a press conference today, Regnum reports.
“We are not planning that in the near future. I recently appointed a representative to Armenia. He will visit Armenia soon. He will most probably visit the border, but we are not planning to interfere with the work of the Armenian customs officials,” he said.
“The most important issue at this point is the issue of the working language. As it is known we are using Russian as the working language in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, while Armenian is used in Armenia,” Belyaninov said.
