YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Armenia condemns any form of terrorism and is willing to cooperate with the international community in battling terrorism. The statement was made at the OSCE Human Rights meeting held in Warsaw September 17-28. Ashot Kocharian–Advisor to the International Organizations Department–Armenia’s Foreign Office represented Armenia at the OSCE meeting.
A heated debate between representatives of Turkey and Cyprus–Armenia and Azerbaijan–and Armenia and Turkey took place during the meeting.
The Armenian delegation presented Armenia’s approaches to the Karabakh settlement–the reasons for and consequences of the conflict–historical evidence of Azerbaijan’s chauvinistic and aggressive policy–relevant documen’s on events in Khojalu–on historical falsifications–and reports on Azerbaijan’s direct involvement in international terrorism.
Secretary General of the International League for Rights and Liberation of Peoples Verena Graph spoke about Nagorno Karabakh’s right to self-determination and presented the facts of ethnic purging aimed against Armenia’s in Azerbaijan.
The Armenian delegation presented the information on the democratic processes in the country–on Armenia’s willingness for more active participation in the activities of the UN–OSCE–and other international organizations especially those dealing with human rights and the strengthening of democracy. The delegation also presented Armenia’s policy toward the national minorities residing in Armenia.
