ALEPPO–Syria–The Prelacy of Aleppo announced this week–that week-long activities between April 20 to 27 will highlight a pilgrimage–on April 24–to Der-Zor to mark the 85th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. His Holiness Aram I–Catholicos of the Holy See of Cilcia preside over the ceremonies and lead the pilgrimage.
The pilgrimage is organized by the Aleppo Prelacy and the Armenia-based committee set up to mark the 1700th anniversary of Armenia’s adoption of Christianity as a state religion.
Archbishop Souren Kataroian–Prelate of Aleppo has convened a special committee to oversee activities in Der-Zor and plan the scheduled pilgrimage.
The Prelacy called on Armenia’s from around the world to take part in this important pilgrimage.
In Der Zor an Armenian Church is constructed where remains of the more than 300,000 Armenia’s victims of the Genocide are stored.
