YEREVAN (YERKIR)–The Chief of Staff of Armenia’s military–President Robert Kocharian–visited military units stationed at the northern–southern–and Mountainous Karabagh borders of Armenia to review living conditions–problems–and the degree of military preparedness.
He also toured military training facilities to examine tank and strategic military exercises–and spoke with commanders and soldiers of permanent military divisions.
Addressing problems prevalent among units–Kocharian stressed that there is no problem that takes precedence–rather that military rules must be strictly adhered to in order to rid of the issues that plague the current military.
Reviewing newly constructed barracks–mess halls–infirmaries–and clubs for military personnel–Kocharian expressed satisfaction with the living conditions of soldiers–but was quick to point out that these are not enough.
He stressed that the fundamental issues that surround the military are the focus of his attention and under his immediate supervision. He told commanders that while he is generally satisfied with his findings–the secret to military expertise is continued development and commitment to strengthening the military as a whole.
