YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–President Robert Kocharian held a meeting on November 15 with the Chinese government delegation. Making a high appraisal of the current level of the Armenian-Chinese relations and trends towards their development–Kocharian pointed out that both countries possess a great potential for cooperation. He expressed confidence that the recently intensified contacts are giving a new quality to bilateral relations. Kocharian said that both countries can effectively cooperate in the technical-military and chemical spheres. The president also said that Armenia is trying to create favorable conditions for investmen’s. "Our country is implementing an open-door policy and is ready for serious cooperation," he said.
Head of the Chinese delegation–Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Khe Saowe said that the Chinese government attaches high importance to the development of economic relations with Armenia. He stated that since the two countries established diplomatic relations–the bilateral cooperation has successfully been developed. Saowe also mentioned that China is ready to expand its trade and economic relations with Armenia.
The sides expressed confidence that by combined efforts of the Armenian and Chinese governmen’s the bilateral trade and economic relations will be developed.
