Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan met with the Central Executive Board of Homenetmen

“For us it is important for the ARF to be strong, because of the important mission it is shouldering,” Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan tells Homenetmen leaders.

YEREVAN—Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan on Thursday met with members of the Homenetmen Central Executive Board ahead of the organization’s 9th Pan-Armenian Games, which will kick off Sunday at Liberty Square.

Sarsgyan told the visiting delegation, “We are very interested that our traditional political parties remain strong because there is no alternative to your mission of preserving the Armenian identity.”

The Prime Minister underscored the role parties play in the Diaspora in preserving Armenian national values. Sargsyan emphasized that “for us it is important for the ARF to be strong, because of the important mission it is shouldering.”

He welcomed his guests by saying that he takes pleasure in meeting members of Homenetmen, praising the organization for its role in elevating Armenian national values, adding that Homenetmen has been the best in advancing that mission.

Homenetmen Central Committee chairman Karnig Mgrdchian introduced the Prime Minister to the other members of the board and said that one of the organization’s goals is to encourage young Armenians to visit Armenia and develop a connection with the homeland.

He explained that on Sunday, the 9th Homenetmen Pan-Armenian Games will kick off at Liberty Square with more than 600 athletes from around the world participating.

The Central Executive members thanked Sargsyan for his role in facilitating the organization of the games, for which the Armenian government’s relevant bodies have provided venues for competitions throughout the country.
